Optionally, you may enjoy a visit to a scenic viewpoint overlooking the Mallos de Riglos, an iconic natural landmark known for its dramatic sandstone towers in the foothills of the Pyrenees. Take comfortable shoes.
Alternatively, this time may be used for rest or to enjoy the outside pool.

 

10:00 · Departure to Somontano PDO: Bodega Pirineos

The winery combines mountain-influenced terroir with modern winemaking expertise. It works with both traditional Spanish varieties such as Garnacha and Tempranillo, and international grapes including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay and Gewürztraminer, a variety for which Somontano is especially recognised. Bodegas Pirineos stands out for its consistent quality, strong cooperative roots, and its role in positioning Somontano as an internationally respected wine region, offering a diverse and export-oriented portfolio.

13:30 · Lunch and visit to Sommos

The most contemporary winery in this wine region. SOMMOS produces a range of elegant, honest wines with the grapes grown in Somontano, a small wine region with a huge diversity of soils, microclimates, and grape varieties.

The winery is an amazing building inspired on Cotiella, one of the most famous Pyrenean mountains.

SOMMOS is considered by the prestigious magazine The Drinks Business as “one of top 10 architectural wonders of the wine world”, and it’s not just due to its beauty, but also because of its usefulness for the production of unique wines.

El Tubo, full of tapas bars and restaurants, is a nickname given because of the narrowness of its streets.

Calatayud, extreme vineyards

Bodegas San Alejandro manages around 1,200 hectares, a third of which are organic, being the winery with the largest area of ​​organic vineyards in Aragón. Production is around 4 MM bottles/year. Leaders in the region in production, turnover and prestige, their wines are present in more than 40 countries around the world. Specialists in high-altitude Grenache, located up to 1100 m.

The natural characteristics in which the plots are located and the passion in the preparation of each blend, make their wines unique. Garnacha from entry level to premium, with organoleptic profiles that differ from each other, despite working with the same variety.

Masterclass “Wines from Aragón” with Manu Jiménez, Best Sommelier in Spain 2017 and dinner at the centennial gourmet restaurant and Deli Montal.
